Imperial Agents from Across the Warhammer Team

We’ve been getting excited for Codex: Imperial Agents here at the heart of Warhammer in bright and sunny Nottingham, and veterans of the hobby have been digging through their cabinets for Inquisitors, Assassins, and other agents of old. We’ve got quite a collection going on, and it’d be a shame if they sat here behind closed doors.

If you’ve seen Simon more than once or twice on Battle Report, you’ll know he has a lifelong love for the sons of Fenris, so it stands to reason that the veteran he sends off to the Deathwatch is another of his Space Wolves. This beautifully converted miniature includes loads of hallmarks of his Chapter, from a rune-etched blade down to small talismans and trinkets hanging from his armour.

40k WarcomImpAgents Aug09 SpaceWolfRaph meanwhile sent his custom Inquisitor to the front, modified from the classic Solomon Lok miniature from Forge World with a taser prod, hourglass, and even a distinguished beard. Backing him up is a Vindicare Assassin, who eagle-eyed Warhammer+ watchers may recognise as one of the first two free miniatures subscribers had access to – albeit on the ground rather than perched in a ruined statue.

40k WarcomImpAgents Aug09 RaphInquisitors often enlist whole teams of aides when their specialist skills are needed for an investigation, and Richard’s retinue sports a wide range of classic metal and resin miniatures. His eerily familiar Inquisitor leads quite the eclectic bunch, from a loyal canid and a zealous preacher to… that creepy chap in red, and even an honest-to-goodness daemonhost.

40k WarcomImpAgents Aug09 RichardWith the Deathwatch Kill Team, Watch Captain Artemis, and the Corvus Blackstar all returning in Codex: Imperial Agents, Paul’s compact strike force is a perfect core for dedicated Imperial Agents armies, and a great way to include a smaller squad in another Imperial army. Every model can pack into their transport for easy deployment anywhere on the battlefield, but with Space Marines looking this good, you won’t want to keep them off the table for long.

The new Codex also sports a sizable complement of voidsmen, from a Rogue Trader and their entourage to the Imperial Navy’s own Breacher Teams, and they even have a Detachment focused around them. Paul has clearly been waiting for this moment, as his wonderfully painted Elucidian Starstriders stand ready to deploy and prove they’re just as fighty as they are shiny.

This army uses loads of parts from different Space Marine ranges to make something extremely unique, and with up to five units from the new Codex able to be deployed in a regular Space Marine army, it can still work just the same way on the tabletop – though you might need to make a tough pick between which assassin you take.

Finally, Warhammer Community picture-wrangler Joel added his own miniatures to our collection, and had this to say about them: “I have a large Adepta Sororitas army themed around Ephrael Stern, and over the years I’ve added a few agents to supplement my force. I painted Greyfax years ago when she and Celestine were involved in the Gathering Storm plot, working alongside my true love, the Ynnari. She’s always been a great addition to the sisters, since she adds some sweet psychic shenanigans.

40k WarcomImpAgents Aug09 JoelWhen it comes to assassins, I always wanted my two favourites. I love the lore for the Culexus, being one of the creepiest things to exist in the Warhammer 40,000 universe and the Callidus is one of my favourite miniatures ever – I love the design, especially her wrist-mounted phase blade. Eventually, I’d like to have a full set though!”
