Bring the Heroes of Kill Team: Hivestorm to Warhammer 40,000 with Free Datasheet Downloads

The Tempestus Aquilons and Vespid Stingwings squads found in Kill Team: Hivestorm are simply too deadly to confine to small-scale special operations,* and the expertise of both of these kill teams in Deep Strike missions can be put to great use on the battlefields of Warhammer 40,000. You can download their official Datasheets below.

The Tempestus Aquilons are the best of the best when it comes to accurate grav-drops into enemy-held territory via the Precision Drop skill. The ability to land within 3” of an enemy unit is invaluable for capturing far-flung objectives, or for sneaking into an area that would otherwise be screened by loosely arranged enemies.

Landing at such close range also benefits several of the weapons fielded by the squad. One trooper can equip the powerful melta carbine – a classic close-quarters anti-everything solution – while the Tempestor squad leader has servo-sentry weapons baked into their profile,** with the hot-shot volley gun putting out an impressive eight shots inside its Rapid Fire range.

The Servo-sentry rule lets the biggest gun in the squad fire right after it drops into the battlefield, and with options for a flamer or a grenade launcher available alongside the volley gun, you can make sure that whatever you want to ambush takes a pile of damage before they can react.

Their respectable firepower, multitude of weapon options, and unparalleled ability to slip behind enemy lines makes the Tempestus Aquilons a steal for just 90 points – whether they’re neutralising artillery support, charging the back lines, or throwing everything they have into a last-ditch dash for objectives.

The Vespid Stingwings update their datasheet found in Codex: T’au Empire with a new maximum squad size of 10 models, and a host of new options. You can now add a T’au flamer, a neutron grenade launcher, and a neutron rail rifle to the mix, further augmenting their lethal close-range firepower.

The Strain Leader can be equipped with the Oversight Drone, giving the Stingwings a once-per-game choice to completely ignore cover. As their Airborne Agility and Deep Strike rules allow them to repeatedly attack targets of opportunity all over the battlefield, this ability vastly expands their threat potential

The Tempestus Aquilons and Vespid Stingwings will be available for the first time when Kill Team: Hivestorm is released on the 5th of October.

The rules for both units will be added to the Warhammer 40,000 app later this month, alongside the scheduled October balance update.

* Especially considering the Vespid are already part of the T’au Empire’s Warhammer 40,000 roster!

** The servo-sentry itself serves as a handy token to remind you rather than a model in its own right – so don’t worry about hiding its big base behind cover!
