Celebrate Warhammer Day with new action figures, video games, and more

There’s a big preview coming up tomorrow for Warhammer Day, but we don’t want to wait to begin the festivities – loads of our Officially Licensed partners are getting in on the celebration, and they’re bringing new reveals and offers to the party.

The master sculptors at Wētā Workshop are following their groundbreaking Abaddon the Despoiler statue with a new series of collectable 1:6 scale Space Marine helmets.

The Ultramarines, Dark Angels, and World Eaters are the first to get the Wētā treatment – and are now available on pre-order – but there are more to come.

If you’re anything like us, you’ve been swept up in Space Marine 2 fever these last few weeks, and it looks like we’re not the only ones. McFarlane Toys – creators of a wide variety of awesome Warhammer action figures – have a pair of new characters joining the fray, including the one and only Lieutenant Titus.

Titus will be available in two editions: pre-coloured and as a grey Artist’s Proof, so you can set him up straight from the box or paint the whole lot from scratch. Alongside him is a Commissar of the Astra Militarum – looking rather like the gentleman featured in the latest episode of The Tithes – who is also released in both versions.

Laced Records are providing the tunes as the game’s epic soundtrack is released in a new Limited Edition two-disc vinyl set, featuring beautifully pressed records and art from the game on the sleeves. In keeping with the soundtrack theme, publishers Focus Entertainment have also released a digital version of the score – and the Art and Making of Space Marine 2 art book – on Steam.

For those who are taking their first tentative steps into the 41st Millennium and want to learn more, or those simply want the grimmest, darkest coffee table book ever devised, Warhammer 40,000: The Ultimate Guide by DK Books is out now in the UK and coming soon to the rest of the world.

This hefty encyclopaedia is the most comprehensive guide to the lore and miniatures of Warhammer 40,000 ever assembled, written by Black Library authors Guy Haley and Gav Thorpe, and festooned with lavish artwork and photography from cover to cover.

In the world of video games, loads of Warhammer Day sales and game updates have launched across many of your favourite platforms, running until 6:00pm BST on the 7th of October. This is the perfect opportunity to pick up some classics, and score a bargain in the process. Gamesplanet will run its sale until the 11th of October, while Humble will be on until the 23rd of October.

Speaking of classics, it just so happens that 2024 is both the 20th anniversary of the legendary Dawn of War and the 15th anniversary of Dawn of War 2, and Relic has marked these momentous milestones with two shiny Anniversary Editions, collecting each game together with all of their expansions and DLC.

Better yet, if you already own either game on Steam, your games have been upgraded automatically, so you can jump right in and check out any of the expansions you missed.

The hit mobile card game Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge has also broken free of Early Access, and has a brand new faction to play as – the Astra Militarum. Players may use the code WARPFORGE to earn 10 free booster packs (– but hurry, as the code is only available until the 31st of October).

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector has meanwhile released a free update on all platforms which will improve balancing, and provide quality-of-life fixes. The units for the Astra Militarum faction DLC have also been revealed, and are due for release on the 10th of December.
