Bring Justice to Warhammer 40,000 with Free Rules for the Adeptus Arbites

The Adeptus Arbites made a big splash in Kill Team: Soulshackle, and they’re only a few weeks away from their standalone release. Their close-range expertise also makes them a dab hand in Boarding Actions, and for that they’ll need some rules for Warhammer 40,000.

Full Boarding Actions rules for the Agents of the Imperium are included in Arks of Omen: The Lion* – available to pre-order this weekend, alongside their new Boarding Patrol. And so you can get using them in games of Warhammer 40,000, we’ve updated the Armies of the Imperium download to include the three new Arbites datasheets:

As those who’ve already built them will know, the Adeptus Arbites kit is packed with enough pieces to assemble one of three different units – the specialist Exaction Squad loaded with gadgets, the shotgun-toting Vigilant Squad, and Subductor Squads armed for close combat.

All three squads make great boarders thanks to their shotguns, shock mauls, and carapace armour, allowing them dish out and endure some wicked damage. Subductors are especially well-suited to the cramped confines of a Boarding Action, as their assault shields boost their Save characteristic to a very respectable 3+ and grant them the defensive Shield Line ability.

Each squad’s Proctor can also use their voice as a weapon to cow the feeble-minded, amplified through the regal nuncio aquila that floats beside them. Enemies who fall victim to the lawbringer’s booming sanctions will find their aim unsteady, intimidated as they are by the righteousness of the Adeptus Arbites.

Agents of the Imperium in #New40k

If you’re planning to enlist some of the Emperor’s own constabulary, it’s also a great time to be thinking about the updates to Warhammer 40,000 just over the horizon. Much like in the current edition, AGENTS OF THE IMPERIUM can join other Imperial armies as auxiliaries and overseers – but this time the rules are a little different.

Building armies is much simpler in the new edition, so there’s no need to fiddle about with Patrol Detachments and the like. Instead, depending on the battle size, you’ll be able to take a certain number of units with the AGENTS OF THE IMPERIUM keyword, no questions asked. Just slot them into your force and dispense some justice.

Previously, Imperial Knights also used the AGENTS OF THE IMPERIUM keyword to send Freeblades out on crusade with Imperial armies. They now have their own rules for inclusion,** so they won’t use up one of your precious Agent slots. In both cases, the models won’t benefit from your army’s Detachment Rules, or have access to any Enhancements - so your army rules will still fit on a double-page, even with these auxiliary units. Stay tuned for a full faction preview in the coming months!

We’ll have more word on when you can pre-order your own Exaction Squads soon, so keep an eye on Warhammer Community or sign up to our newsletter for the latest info.

* Alongside the Leagues of Votann, Thousand Sons, and Adeptus Custodes.

** The same goes for Chaos Knights, who can still send Dreadblades to join CHAOS armies.
