How the Expert Egg-rustlers of the Vulkyn Flameseekers and Monsta-killaz Ply Their Trade

Eggs. Every Mortal Realm might have its own magical realmstone, but eggs are surely a universal currency in the Age of Sigmar. There are two new warbands available to pre-order for Warcry this weekend, the Vulkyn Flameseekers and Monsta-killaz, and both are eggstremely committed to finding, capturing, and hoarding eggs for their own ends – but not for eating, which is the sole territory of the Gorger Mawpack.

The Vulkyn Fyreslayers are on the prowl for Magmadroth eggs – massive, fiery salamanders they revere as the offspring of Vulcatrix, the long-dead godbeast who slew Grimnir. The Monsta-killaz are meanwhile on the hunt for the nastiest beasties as mounts for their Killabosses.

These two warbands thus find themselves at an impasse, and neither is prepared to walk on eggshells. Both feature hard-hitting standard fighters, with a wide range of specialist warriors and abilities to scramble the opposition. Trust us, they’re no yolk.*

Clad in Magmadroth-scale armour, armed with a shovel-like bokaz or fyresteel splitaxe, Scalebreakers are hardy Fyreslayers. Neckslicers are their wicked Kruleboy counterparts, festooned in animal skull trophies and armed with vicious weaponry like the barbed beaststikka harpoon.

Kruleboyz are unusual among orruks in their love of using sneaky tactics and playing dirty tricks. These lanky bullies love to lay a Krule Trap or two, triggering them when their prey comes near with a unique reaction that can either incapacitate or wound the unfortunate victim.

They also use war drums, hunting horns, and their own boisterous howls to confuse and disorientate opponents. When the Bawla Boys Drum and Holler, the impact on the senses makes quick-witted reactions impossible to perform – great for pinning down slippery fighters like the Hunters of Huanchi.

The Vulkyn Flameseekers want nothing to do with such tricks, fighting instead with the courage and conviction that their quest to secure the searing legacy of Vulcatrix is righteous and correct.** The sacred ur-gold markings tattooed upon their skin can manifest in a Runic Flare, a reaction that reduces critical hits' efficacy in a pinch.

The Vulkyn’s sworn task is to seek out clutches of eggs and return them to their Lodge, but they occasionally come across a young Kyndledroth and train them to be battle-ready Magmadroths. Some day, these tiny scaled arsonists will grow up big and strong enough to be ridden by powerful Fyreslayer champions.

Despite their young age, these pint-sized salamanders are not to be trifled with. Their Kyndlebreath may not be a fully-fledged roaring fyrestream, but it can roast bunched-up hordes of foul-smelling fighters, and is perfect for setting swarms of spiders ablaze.

Both warbands will have their beast-hunting work cut out for them, as they contend with monster-supping vampires and the scabrous hunting parties of the Flesh-eater Courts. You can pre-order them, the new Ravaged Lands: Scales of Talaxis scenery set, and the Hunter and Hunted pack – containing the Gorger Mawpack, Wildercorps Hunters, and Mawpit – this Saturday.

* Last egg pun, promise.

** Even if other Fyreslayers believe venerating the creature that killed your god is a bit rum.
